Schools that perform above expectations 2024/25

These compulsory schools reach higher results than their pupil intake predictsunder Skolverket's SALSA model — the school's own contribution, not the effect of parental background. The list is a tool for finding schools that lift their pupils, not a ranking of the "best" schools.

How the list is calculated

The list ranks compulsory schools by their SALSA residual — the difference between the school's actual year-9 merit value and the value Skolverket's model expects given the pupils' background (parental education, sex and recently immigrated pupils). A positive value-added means the school performs better than predicted.

Only schools with a robust sample (at least 15 year-9 pupils and a 95 % confidence interval clear of zero) are included — a small cohort can otherwise swing sharply between years. The confidence interval (±) is shown for every school.

Note: SALSA is simplified, exists only for year 9, and should never be used alone to judge a school — the residual is not comparable between years and is not a quality guarantee. What is SALSA? → ·When SALSA misleads →

Show calculation evidence for the SALSA list

Value-added is the year-9 merit score minus the modelled expected merit score. Schools are included only when the year-9 cohort has at least 15 pupils and the interval around the residual does not cross zero.

Data coverage and sorting

50 units are included. The list is sorted by SALSA residual using 2024/25 data.

Filter
Compulsory schools with at least 15 year-9 pupils and a 95% confidence interval that does not cross zero.
Sorting
Descending: a larger positive residual ranks higher because the outcome is farther above the modelled expectation.
